"NOCTURNAL MONSTERS RAZE NEW YORK!"
RESUMEN: Samantha vive en Nueva York con Robert Neville. Samantha fue criada por Neville después que su esposa e hija lo abandonaron. Neville, quien es un ratón de biblioteca entrenado para combatir, llama a Samantha “Sam” y por principio la entrena a ella, y a él mismo, muy duramente cada día. Neville está obsesionado con el día y luego que un estilo de vida nocturno muy apasionado se pone de moda, él decide obligar a los “buscadores de la oscuridad” para que vuelvan a adoptar un tipo de vida diurno nuevamente.
Para conseguir su meta Neville se vuelve un vigilante que secuestra y tortura a aquellos que viven de noche. Él los inyecta con diferentes sustancias y en un caso, fuerza a una “buscadora de la oscuridad” a experimentar frío intenso.
Samantha, que aparece desnuda durante toda la película, salva a Robert de volverse un “buscador de la oscuridad”, pero ella se predispone a esa forma de vida. Neville no puede aceptar esto y la asesina. “Sam” muere en sus brazos. El retorcido vigilante trata de atropellar tantos “buscadores de la oscuridad” como le es posible, pero ellos contraatacan y al último minuto es “salvado” por una mujer (con un niño) quien declara que un Ser Superior le dijo que existe una comunidad que ama la luz del día.
Neville, que piensa que ha descubierto una sustancia que puede forzar a los “buscadores de lo oscuro” a adoptar su estilo de vida diurno, es atacado por un grupo de aquellos que él dice que puede “curar”. La mujer misteriosa y el niño se ocultan con la sustancia mientras el hombre obsesionado detona una granada que lo mata a él y a la “gente enferma” que lo había arrinconado.
La mujer y el niño llegan a la comunidad con un estilo de vida diurno y muestran el “descubrimiento” realizado por Neville, quien se transforma en un hombre legendario.
SYNOPSIS: Samantha lives in New York with Robert Neville. Samantha was raised by Neville after his wife and daughter left him. Neville, who is a nerd trained to fight, calls Samantha “Sam” and exercises her and himself very hard in a daily basis. Neville is obsessed with the day and after a passionate nocturnal way of living becomes popular, he decides to force the “dark seekers” to come back and adopt a diurnal way of living again.
In order to accomplish his goal Neville becomes a vigilante who kidnaps and torture those who live at night. He injects them with different substances and, in one case, forces a female “dark seeker” to experience intense cold.
Samantha, who appears naked during the whole movie, saves Robert from becoming a “dark seeker”, but she falls for that way of living. Neville cannot accept this and kills her. “Sam” dies in her arms. The vicious vigilante tries to run over as many “dark seekers” as possible, but they fight back and at the last minute he is “saved” by a woman (with a kid) who states that a Superior Being told her that there is a community that loves daylight.
Neville, who thinks that he has discovered a substance that can force the “dark seekers” to adopt his diurnal way of living, is attacked by a group of those who he says he can “cure”. The mysterious woman and the kid hide themselves with the substance while the obsessed man detonates a granade that murders him and the “sick people” who had cornered him.
The woman and the kid arrive to a community with a diurnal way of living and show the “discovery” made by Neville, who becomes a legendary man.
Es una maravillosa película porque:
1) Me gusta Samantha. Ella es uno de los personajes más emocionantes en años. Aunque Robert Neville está totalmente neurótico, Samantha es leal, inocente, tierna y posee un magnetismo animal fácilmente identificable.
1) I like Samantha. She is one of the most exciting characters in years. Even though, Robert Neville is totally neurotic, Samantha is loyal, innocent, cute, and has an animal magnetism that is easily noticeable.
2) Cuando Robert Neville enjabona a Samantha en la bañera, algunos primeros planos de su rostro son muy conmovedores. Ella luce gloriosa, sensible, honesta.
2) When Robert Neville soaps Samantha in the bathtub, some close ups from her face are really touching. She looks glorious, sensitive, honest.
3) Cuando Samantha, desnuda, fallece en los brazos de su asesino / amo / maestro, su actuación es muy poderosa. ¡Ese momento me hizo sentir tan triste!
3) When Samantha, naked, dies in the arms of her murderer/master, her performance is very powerful. That moment made feel so sad!.
4) Neville es un Travis Bickle moderno (“Taxi Driver”): Él padece serios problemas de comunicación y nos muestra cómo el hombre aislado deviene furioso y vengativo sin motivo.
4) Neville is a modern Travis Bickle (“Taxi Driver”): He suffers serious communication problems and show us how the isolated man becomes furious and vengeful without reason.
5) Esta película, “YO SOY LEYENDA”, es un estudio extraordinario del “Pensamiento Fascista” que justifica toda clase de atrocidades en contra de quienes se desarrollan exitosamente en otro estilo de vida.
Neville piensa que él está en lo correcto totalmente, que los “buscadores de la oscuridad” están “enfermos” aunque ellos muestran inteligencia y organización siempre.
Neville es la encarnación de la Ideología Del Totalitarismo. Al final, él justifica su cruzada mediante un mensaje o señal que supuestamente viene de Dios. En el último minuto, él cambia su ateísmo pero sólo porque ello lo ayuda a inmolarse y mantener su guerra santa en desarrollo.
Disfruté mucho esta película.
5) This movie, “I AM LEGEND”, is an extraordinary study of the “Fascist Thinking” that justifies all kind of atrocities against those who thrive in another way of living.
Neville thinks that he is totally right, that the “dark seekers” are “sick” even though they show intelligence and organization always.
Neville is the incarnation of the Totalitarianism Ideology. At the end, he justifies his crusade through a message or signal that supposedly comes from God. At the last minute, he changes his atheism, but only because it helps him to immolate himself and it helps to keep his holy war going on.
I enjoyed this movie a lot.
